About this role
The Product Manager for Physical Channels will own the vision, roadmap and lifecycle of Flutterwave’s physical payment solutions, including Smart POS terminals and in-person acceptance apps across Android, Linux and Mini POS devices. The role links business needs with merchant requirements and engineering, ensures feature parity with legacy apps, adds value‑added services and scales processing volumes as an end‑to‑end commercial control point rather than a pure feature-shipping function.
What you would do
- Define and drive the roadmap for physical channel applications across Android, Linux and POS devices.
- Translate customer feedback and market dynamics into competitive terminal payment solutions (Card, PWBT, QR, Loans, Agency Banking).
- Scope features for merchant integrations (e.g., Flutterwave for Business integrations, aggregator white-label setups).
- Enforce feature parity and quality: ensure parity between legacy and revamped apps; ensure core functions such as EOD reporting, account mapping, disputes and offline sync are built and tested; coordinate with QA to prevent regressions.
- Manage terminal lifecycle and OEM activities: certifications and deployments; oversee RKI, TMS updates and OTA strategies; ensure compliance with switching networks, PCI-PTS and local regulations.
- Lead cross-functional launches and ongoing performance: coordinate with Sales, Operations and Customer Success; define pricing rules; develop product docs and escalation workflows; monitor transaction success, app stability and terminal yield; prioritise backlog using MIS data.
What they are asking for
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in product management within payments, fintech or POS/terminal hardware environments.
- Proven track record defining and delivering roadmaps for hardware-integrated or terminal-based software products.
- Experience managing feature parity, QA gatekeeping and release processes for merchant- or consumer-facing applications.
- Experience with terminal lifecycle management, including certifications, firmware/app deployment, RKI and TMS/OTA update strategies.
- Working knowledge of card schemes, switching networks and PCI-PTS compliance requirements.
- Comfortable partnering with Engineering, QA, MIS and Commercial teams to translate business needs into shipped features; exposure to African payments landscape is advantageous.
