Product Designer
About this role
Rotex Glass Limited is seeking a Product Designer to join its factory team in Shagamu, Ogun. The role targets architects or civil engineers who will be trained to design glass products for building projects and prepare production documentation. The designer will assess material suitability, create architectural drawings, take precise measurements, and collaborate with sales, technical and production teams. Training on Rotex products, systems and standards is provided. The position involves working at the Shagamu factory and supporting manufacturing with accurate designs and documentation.
What you would do
- Design glass and fenestration products to meet project and client specifications
- Calculate and evaluate the suitability of glass, aluminium and other materials for each project
- Prepare architectural drawings, sketches and detailed shop drawings in AutoCAD
- Take accurate site and project measurements and convert them into production-ready specifications
- Prepare production documentation, including cutting lists, material schedules and technical drawings
- Work closely with sales, technical and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable
- Review drawings and documents for errors before release to production
- Maintain organised records of designs, calculations and project documentation
- Undergo training on Rotex products, systems and standards
What they are asking for
- BSc/HND in Architecture, Civil Engineering or a related field
- Relevant experience in design, drafting or technical documentation (fresh graduates with strong AutoCAD skills may be considered)
- Willingness to work at the Shagamu factory
- Willingness to learn and be trained in glass product design
