About this role
The Product Auditor role at Moniepoint in Lagos provides independent assurance over the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of product controls across payments, wallets, settlements, switches and related products. The role evaluates product risk exposure and control maturity prior to scale to prevent revenue leakage, settlement failures, regulatory breaches and other technology-driven risks.
What you would do
- Maintain the living Product Audit Universe and own the annual Product Audit Plan, allocating coverage based on risk, complexity, regulatory sensitivity and change velocity.
- Review PRDs, business rules and transaction workflows to identify logic gaps, unmitigated risk paths and missing exception handling before go-live.
- Periodically assess live payment products to confirm they operate within approved design parameters, detect configuration drift and analyse live data for emerging risk patterns.
- Execute pre-production go-live reviews as an independent control gate for material releases, test reconciliation logic and fallback controls, and escalate critical deficiencies with risk ratings and hold recommendations.
- Interrogate the transaction logic using SQL to ensure commissions, VAT, discounts and splits are posted precisely, and validate duplicate prevention, reversal, refunds and chargeback logic.
- Trace fund flows and assess reconciliation between wallet sub-ledgers and the General Ledger, including evaluation of manual settlement overrides.
What they are asking for
- Advanced SQL for data extraction and transaction interrogation.
- Knowledge of payment systems architecture including wallets, card processing, direct debit, settlement and reconciliation.
- End-to-end transaction lifecycle knowledge from authorisation to settlement and exception handling.
- PRD and process flow analysis with ability to translate product documentation into control flowcharts.
- Risk-based audit methodology and control design evaluation, including root cause analysis.
- Regulatory knowledge of CBN payment system regulations, PCI DSS, NDPR and Nigerian consumer protection obligations.
