Procurement Officer needed by Softhills Limited in Lagos to source profitable products and reliable suppliers local, online and international, negotiate prices and terms, manage purchases and ensure quality. The role targets someone with experience in retail or e-commerce sourcing in Nigeria who can navigate markets and vendor networks.

What you would do

• Source profitable products from local markets, online platforms and international suppliers.
• Build and maintain a supplier database with pricing, MOQs, lead times and reliability notes.
• Spot product trends and recommend items for target customers.
• Negotiate prices, terms, discounts and delivery terms; place and follow up on purchase orders.
• Coordinate quality control by inspecting samples and bulk goods; reject substandard items and resolve supplier disputes.
• Coordinate logistics with freight forwarders/clearing agents and track deliveries to the warehouse.

• Proven experience in sourcing/procurement for retail or e-commerce (Nigeria experience is a big plus).
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to price down without harming supplier trust.
• Good understanding of Nigerian markets and smart purchasing practices.
• Willingness to move around markets and vendor locations.
• Basic Excel/Google Sheets skills for tracking inventory and pricing.
• Nice-to-Have: experience sourcing from abroad (e.g., Alibaba, 1688, Turkey, Dubai); existing vendor network; knowledge of import logistics and landing cost; ability to verify quality/authenticity quickly.
