Procurement Manager
About this role
A manufacturing firm in Lagos is looking for a Procurement Manager to oversee end-to-end purchasing for production, from raw materials to factory delivery. The role focuses on negotiating supplier contracts, managing risks to material availability, ensuring quality compliance, and driving cost reductions. The successful candidate will manage complex, global supplier networks and supervise purchasing operations within the supply chain. Experience in manufacturing procurement, supplier performance, and materials planning is essential. The jobReports to the Supply Chain Manager and supports production scheduling and material availability.
What you would do
- Ensure material deliveries align with production schedules and JIT/MRP timelines
- Manage material lead times and buffer stocks to minimise carrying costs and avoid stockouts
- Source and evaluate raw materials, components, and factory machinery for production
- Negotiate long-term, high-volume supplier contracts and blanket purchase orders
- Develop contingency plans for logistics disruptions and single-source risks
- Collaborate with QA to audit vendors and ensure material quality and compliance
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as on-time delivery and defect rates
- Track and analyse total cost of ownership for sourcing decisions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process
- Report procurement status and risks to the Supply Chain Manager

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations or Business Administration
- Analytical ability to read technical drawings/ BOMs and perform TCO analysis
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP4HANA) and advanced Excel
- 5+ years of verified sourcing experience in manufacturing or heavy industry
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw material markets, and global freight/Incoterms
