Procurement Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Tyonex Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer to manage end-to-end procurement for oil and gas projects. The role requires a strong engineering background and expertise in sourcing technical materials and equipment, vendor management and ensuring technical compliance and timely delivery. The position involves sourcing materials and services from local and international vendors, preparing RFQs, evaluating quotations, processing purchase orders, and coordinating logistics and deliveries to project sites. It also covers reviewing technical specifications and vendor documentation, maintaining procurement records and compliance documentation, and managing supplier relationships and pricing discussions. Suitable candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and substantial procurement or project engineering experience in oil and gas or heavy industry. The employer operates in Nigeria with activities across multiple sites and a corporate head office in Lagos."
What you would do
- Source materials, equipment and services from local and international vendors
- Prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier quotations and process purchase orders
- Review technical specifications, engineering drawings and vendor documentation
- Manage supplier relationships, pricing discussions and delivery schedules
- Coordinate logistics, inspections and material delivery to project sites
- Maintain accurate procurement records, reports and compliance documentation

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
- 8 - 15 years of experience in procurement or project engineering within oil and gas or heavy industry
- Experience in RFQs, bid evaluations, technical procurement and vendor management
- Strong understanding of engineering specifications, API/ASME/ISO standards and international sourcing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/procurement systems
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, documentation and stakeholder management skills
