Procurement Engineer

The role is based in Ibadan, Nigeria, and targets candidates with an engineering background and prior experience in procurement for FMCG or manufacturing environments. What you would do

• Identify and manage qualified suppliers, OEMs and engineering service providers.
• Coordinate and consolidate procurement requests from end-user departments.
• Obtain quotations and conduct technical and commercial evaluations.
• Negotiate prices and select suitable suppliers.
• Ensure procurement complies with policies, budgets, quality standards and approvals.
• Manage end-to-end procurement of engineering materials, equipment, spare parts, consumables and technical services.
• Review supplier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare reports.
• Monitor purchase orders, commitments and delivery schedules to prevent delays.
• Liaise with engineering, maintenance and production departments to ensure specifications meet operational needs.

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in engineering procurement, preferably with engineering service providers in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of engineering materials, industrial equipment, spare parts, technical specifications and procurement processes.
• Analytical, organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
• High integrity with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems and Microsoft Excel.
