About this role
A Principal Laboratory Scientist position in Lagos. The role is for an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist with at least five years of post-registration experience. What you would do
- Perform complex and specialised laboratory testing as a senior practitioner.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to junior staff and trainees.
- Serve as a clinical and technical resource to colleagues.
- Support biosafety compliance and quality assurance at the section level.
- Contribute to audits, quality improvement and CPD.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognised institution.
- Completion of the required national internship and NYSC, or valid exemption where applicable.
- Minimum of five years of post-registration experience in the relevant profession.
- Experience supporting and guiding junior medical laboratory science staff.
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory practice across disciplines and ability to perform complex/specialised testing.
- Sound understanding of quality control and biosafety; equipment competence and fault identification; effective communication and record-keeping.
