Principal Banker - Real Estate

About this role

Principal Banker – Real Estate role with an international financial institution based in Lagos. It targets professionals with extensive real estate market experience in Nigeria, including real estate financing or development from banks, IFIs, private equity, asset management or auditing/financial consulting firms operating to international standards, who have hands-on experience leading complex real estate and hospitality transactions through the full project life cycle.

What you would do

• Contribute to the structuring and execution of complex real estate transactions as a member of the senior project team.
• Monitor the portfolio and provide guidance and supervision to more junior team members.
• Support policy dialogue initiatives with relevant bank units and country teams.
• Assist in procuring grants and technical cooperation funds to complement investment projects or policy dialogue efforts.
• Assist with marketing and business development to build market contacts and generate deal flow.
• Assist in recruiting, training, coaching and mentoring junior bankers, and help ensure quality work and balanced workloads.

• Bachelor's degree.
• Strong quantitative/numerical skills with ability to interpret financial information and to design and use financial models.
• Credit analysis skills with ability to interpret accounts and understanding of local and international accounting principles.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and financial analysis/modelling tools.
• Stakeholder management, relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and under time pressure; excellent written and oral English communication.
