Presales Network Engineer
About this role
VDT Telecommunications Limited is seeking a Presales Network Engineer in Lagos. The role involves acting as the technical lead during the sales cycle, creating solution architectures, PoCs and PoVs, and supporting RFPs and proposals. The person will work with Engineering, Product Management, and sales teams to understand client needs and recommend security solutions, while keeping up to date with the company’s security offerings. The position requires industry experience, relevant certifications, and a university degree, with the aim of helping meet financial targets for proposed solutions.
What you would do
- Act as the technical point of contact throughout the sales cycle
- Develop solution architectures, PoCs and PoVs based on customer requirements
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management on new features and enhancements
- Work with sales teams to understand customer needs and recommend security solutions
- Contribute to achieving financial targets for assigned solution areas
- Maintain knowledge of the organisation's security solutions and capabilities
- Support the development of technical content for RFPs, RFQs and proposals
- Evaluate and optimise solution performance aligned with organisational goals
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations and workshops to prospective clients
- Provide security solution designs that align with customer requirements

- Familiarity with BOMs, pricing strategies and solution configuration
- Ability to align technical solutions with business and financial objectives
- 2–3 years of ICT, telecommunications or related industry experience
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset
- Up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the security domain
- Proven experience designing and architecting security solutions
- CCNP or equivalent security certification
- University degree in a relevant discipline
