Power Plant Operator
About this role
The role is for a Power Plant Operator responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of Wartsila gas engines, including start-up, shutdown and synchronization, to ensure a reliable power supply. It is suited for individuals with hands-on experience in operating gas engines in manufacturing or FMCG settings. The job entails understanding the engine cooling circuits and carrying out routine operation and troubleshooting as part of maintaining continuous power provision.
What you would do
- Operate Wartsila gas engines to start, run, stop and synchronize as required.
- Carry out routine engine operation and monitoring to ensure reliable power supply.
- Perform maintenance tasks and troubleshooting on Wartsila engines and related systems.
- Manage engine cooling circuits (LT/HT water cooling) and related instrumentation.
- Ensure safe operation and adherence to plant safety procedures.
- Detect and report abnormal conditions and coordinate corrective actions.
- Document operating data, maintenance work and engine status.
- Assist with routine maintenance planning and spare parts checks.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for engine downtime and service windows.
- Support continuous improvement efforts for plant efficiency and reliability.
