Portfolio Growth Officer (Hybrid)

A Hybrid Lagos-based role for a Portfolio Growth Officer to reactivate dormant merchant accounts and convert unused credit into a revenue-generating portfolio. Targeted at professionals with experience in relationship management or SME lending who can drive engagement, activation and repayment quality.

What you would do

• Own and manage zero-utilised, dormant, suspended and growth-potential merchants as the key relationship manager.
• Diagnose inactivity by reviewing merchant conditions, needs, usage, repayment history and past engagement.
• Prioritise viable merchants and implement reactivation plans to drive first drawdown, repeat usage and sustainable utilisation.
• Conduct targeted field visits to verify businesses and resolve issues requiring on-site intervention.
• Coordinate with Retention, Operations, Credit and Risk to clear KYC, documentation, repayment instruments and account blockers.
• Manage early-stage repayments, escalate delinquency per approved rules and suspend utilisation where credit concerns exist.

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related discipline.
• At least 3 years in relationship management, field sales, SME lending, portfolio management or financial services.
• Understanding of merchant businesses, working-capital cycles, activation and repayment management.
• Ability to diagnose customer problems, handle objections and convert opportunities into measurable outcomes.
• Strong communication, negotiation, relationship management and field execution skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, CRM systems and performance trackers; willingness to travel regularly.
