Portfolio Growth Officer

About this role

A Portfolio Growth Officer focuses on reactivating and growing an assigned set of inactive and underutilised merchants, by understanding causes of inactivity, driving credit utilisation and maintaining merchant relationships. The role targets existing partners rather than acquiring new customers and is based in Lagos for TeamAce Limited.

What you would do

• Manage inactive, dormant, suspended, underutilised and growth-potential merchant accounts.
• Identify reasons for inactivity and develop reactivation strategies.
• Drive first and repeat drawdowns to ensure sustainable credit facility utilisation.
• Build and maintain strong merchant relationships through regular communication and field visits.
• Assess merchants’ business conditions, financing needs and repayment history to identify growth opportunities.
• Conduct field visits to verify businesses and resolve issues requiring physical intervention.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years in relationship management, field sales, SME lending, portfolio management or financial services.
• Understanding of merchant businesses, working-capital needs, activation and repayment management.
• Strong customer relationship, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, CRM systems and performance tracking tools.
• Ability to work independently in a target-driven environment and willingness to travel regularly.
