Pipeline Business Operations Analyst
About this role
The role is for a Pipeline Business Operations Analyst at Axxela in Lagos. It supports the Pipeline Business Operations Manager to ensure a reliable gas supply and the safe, dependable operation of the gas distribution system. The analyst will manage maintenance activities, monitor equipment, and capture and analyse operational data to inform decisions, prepare regulatory and management reports, and oversee the organisation’s CMMS for asset lifecycle management and operational efficiency.
What you would do
- Coordinate maintenance activities with operations and maintenance service providers using the CMMS.
- Review metering reports and recommendations for approval.
- Prepare periodic operations reports for the Operations Manager and address issues or customer complaints.
- Analyse equipment performance of O&M service providers and make recommendations.
- Provide assistance for other utility maintenance and repair works as needed.
- Collate and analyse data to support proactive maintenance and planning.
- Prepare scope of work for non-routine operational tasks (eg, purchasing new technology).
- Continuously search for new technologies to improve efficiency.
- Update work procedures and ensure compliance with the Integrated Management Standard.
- Ensure health, safety and environmental guidelines are followed in the use, repairs and maintenance of gas facilities.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline with minimum Second Class Honours.
- At least three years of relevant experience in gas distribution, pipeline operations, engineering operations, maintenance or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to capture and analyse operational data to support decision-making and asset performance.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills relevant to maintaining gas distribution systems and equipment.
