Physical and Health Education (PHE) Teacher
About this role
Rainbow Educational Service Limited is seeking a full-time Physical and Health Education (PHE) Teacher for a Lagos-based school offering a blended Nigerian and Cambridge curriculum. The role involves planning and delivering PHE lessons, teaching fitness, sports, health education, personal hygiene and wellness, and organising sports activities and inter-house competitions. The teacher will assess student performance, ensure safety during activities, and prepare students for WAEC, NECO and internal exams. Strong classroom management and communication skills are required, with a background in PHE or related fields and relevant teaching experience. The position targets candidates who can motivate students and promote healthy, active living within a high-quality learning environment.
What you would do
- Plan and deliver Physical and Health Education lessons according to the curriculum.
- Teach physical fitness, sports, health education, personal hygiene and wellness concepts.
- Organise and supervise sporting activities, fitness programs, and inter-house competitions.
- Promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
- Assess students’ physical and theoretical performance and provide feedback.
- Ensure student safety during physical activities and maintain safety standards.
- Prepare students for WAEC, NECO and internal examinations.
- Maintain records of student participation, achievement and progress.

- Degree in Physical and Health Education, Human Kinetics, Education or related field
- Relevant teaching certification may be required
- Experience teaching PHE at the secondary school level is preferred
- Strong knowledge of sports, fitness and health education principles
- Good classroom management, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to motivate and engage students in physical activities and healthy living practices
- First Aid certification is an added advantage
