About this role
A Petroleum Liquids Market & Trading Specialist is sought to bridge physical and financial energy markets on LCFE’s Lagos platform, focusing on structuring, trading and facilitating energy-backed commodities across the oil and gas value chain. The role targets professionals with extensive experience in petroleum liquids and capital markets who can engage with regulators, industry stakeholders and market participants.
What you would do
- Structure, develop and list oil and gas financial instruments on the exchange.
- Drive market liquidity by engaging brokers, dealers and institutional investors.
- Monitor and facilitate energy trading activities on the exchange platform.
- Ensure trading activities and products comply with capital market regulations and exchange rules.
- Analyse market trends, price volatility and risks; implement risk mitigation for energy contracts and settlements.
- Liaise with key stakeholders including regulators, IOCs/indies, refineries and financial institutions.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIS, SEC-registered sponsored individual, CFA or FRM are advantageous.
- 7 to 10 years of active Petroleum Liquids trading experience (physical or derivatives).
- Hands-on capital markets experience (investment banking, asset management, commodities exchange or securities trading).
- Strong understanding of energy markets, pricing benchmarks (e.g., Brent) and hedging, plus clearing/settlement processes.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, data analytics and trading platforms.
