About this role
Based in Abuja at The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE), the PET Radiographer performs PET and PET/CT imaging and operates related scanners. The role requires ensuring patient safety and comfort and strict adherence to radiation safety protocols to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
What you would do
- Perform PET and PET/CT scans following established clinical protocols.
- Operate, calibrate and troubleshoot PET/CT scanners and related equipment.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients using aseptic techniques and radiation safety measures.
- Monitor patient condition and manage adverse reactions or claustrophobia during imaging.
- Annotate images accurately and maintain detailed patient records in the PACS.
- Conduct daily quality control tests on the PET/CT scanner and dose calibrators and ensure compliance with safety policies.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in radiography, medical imaging, or a related field.
- Valid practising licence.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in radiography.
- Hands-on experience operating PET/CT or Nuclear Medicine imaging systems.
- Demonstrable experience in the safe handling and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in Nuclear Medicine or PET/CT imaging is highly desirable.
