Payroll Specialist

JB Limited in Lagos is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations with accuracy and confidentiality. The role involves analysing payroll data, reconciling figures, and producing reports to support decision making. The successful candidate will handle salaries, deductions, bonuses, allowances, and statutory contributions while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies. The position requires strong Excel and data analysis skills and prior payroll experience in a related role. It is a full-time role based in Ikeja, Lagos.

What you would do

• Maintain accurate payroll records and keep compensation information confidential
• Analyse payroll data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
• Calculate salaries, overtime, allowances, deductions, bonuses, and statutory contributions accurately
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies
• Utilise advanced Excel functions to manage and validate payroll data
• Support payroll audits and provide required reports and documentation
• Process monthly payroll and ensure timely salary disbursement
• Prepare payroll reports, cost analyses, reconciliations, and variance reports

• Experience with payroll software or ERP systems
• High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and reporting abilities
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant payroll experience
• Excellent Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF, data validation, and other advanced techniques)
