Payroll Officer
About this role
A Payroll Officer role based in Lagos responsible for monthly multi-currency payroll administration, statutory withholdings, pension remittances, and fund filings for client entities in Nigeria and West Africa. The position targets applicants with payroll expertise in Nigeria and related regulatory knowledge.
What you would do
- Process monthly payroll and issue electronic payslips
- Prepare bank files for salary disbursements
- Compute gross to net salaries and applicable deductions (PAYE, pension) in NGN and USD
- Remit PAYE tax to state boards by the 10th of each month
- Process pension contributions to PFAs and remit for ITF, NSITF, and NHF
- Post payroll journals and manage Employer of Record payrolls for international remote workers in West Africa
What they are asking for
- 3 to 5 years of payroll administration experience in Nigeria
- Knowledge of PITA, Pension Reform Act 2014 and labour regulations
- Proficiency with Sage Payroll, IPPIS/local Nigerian payroll software, or Odoo Payroll
- BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resource Management
- Ability to communicate clearly across diverse cultures and maintain confidentiality
- Attention to accurate and timely statutory remittance submissions
