About this role
A Pastry Chef is needed to head the pastry, dessert and baking station at Panthera Restaurant in Maitama, Abuja, overseeing the sweet kitchen and coordinating with the senior chefs to deliver premium desserts and baked goods. The role targets experienced pastry professionals in fine dining or luxury hospitality who can manage production, menus and team leadership.
What you would do
- Lead the pastry, dessert and baking station to ensure high standards
- Prepare VIP amenities, celebratory cakes and mignardises for special guests
- Maintain stock and mise en place at least 30 minutes before service
- Design and execute seasonal dessert and tasting menus with the kitchen team
- Supervise and train junior pastry staff and delegates tasks
- Manage production schedules for bread and viennoiserie and ensure quality control

- HND or first degree in hospitality, culinary arts, food science or related field
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
- Strong leadership and training skills
- Extensive experience in baking and pastry work (breads, viennoiserie, cakes, desserts, chocolate and sugar work)
- Proven experience as pastry chef in fine dining, hotel or high‑end bakery
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and maintain high hygiene and cost control
