About this role
Proforce Limited in Ogun State is hiring a Panel Beater for its manufacturing facility. The role involves shaping, repairing and aligning sheet metal and armored panels for tactical and armored vehicles, following engineering specifications. The job targets individuals with hands-on panel beating and metal fabrication experience who can work from blueprints and technical drawings. The employer focuses on producing armored and protective mobility products for government, corporate, diplomatic, and private clients in Nigeria and Africa. The position is based at Ode Remo, Ogun State.
What you would do
- Measure, cut, bend, shape and reshape sheet metal and armored panels to match vehicle contours and templates
- Realign warped or damaged vehicle frames and body structures using hydraulic pullers and alignment jigs
- Perform tack welding, brazing, planishing, shrinking and stretching to prepare surfaces
- Fit and secure exterior panels, doors, hinges, armor plating and brackets ensuring correct gaps and integration
- Identify and repair surface irregularities, dents and structural flaws using appropriate tools
- Follow engineering blueprints, 3D schematics and technical specifications for body assembly or modification
- Ensure proper panel gaps and seamless mechanical integration
- Maintain quality by adhering to surface finish, tolerances and structural integrity standards
- Operate and apply metalworking techniques including planishing, shrinking, stretching, wheeling, and power hammering
- Maintain accuracy in measurement and alignment during fabrication and assembly
What they are asking for
- Education: NABTEB, Trade Test Class 1, OND or HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Automotive Engineering or related technical field
- Experience: 2 to 5 years in panel beating and auto-body fabrication in vehicle manufacturing, coachbuilding or heavy equipment shops
- Skills: High manual dexterity, strong spatial reasoning, proficiency with pneumatic and hydraulic metalworking tools, attention to dimensional accuracy
