Operations Manager
About this role
The role is for an Operations Manager with The Food and Beverage Recycling Alliance in Lagos. The organisation is a group of companies focused on the environment and building a sustainable recycling economy for food and beverage packaging waste. The Operations Manager will oversee collection centres, validate partner reports, develop and monitor operational strategies and KPIs, ensure compliance with regulations, health and safety, and extended producer responsibility, and conduct audits and facility inspections. The position involves improving efficiency, achieving collection targets, and collaborating with the Sustainability Manager, executives, collectors, and other waste value chain stakeholders. Additional duties may be assigned by management.
What you would do
- Monitor collection centres and report progress, challenges and opportunities
- Validate reports submitted by collection partners
- Develop operational strategies, policies and KPIs
- Monitor partner performance and ensure regulatory, health and safety and EPR compliance
- Conduct facility inspections and operational audits
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and achieve collection targets
- Collaborate with the Sustainability Manager, executives, collectors and other stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering, environmental, biological or physical science, supply chain logistics, or business management from an accredited institution
- Project management skills
- Interpersonal communication, report writing and presentation skills
- Experience in oversight of construction or building projects is an advantage
- Minimum age 27 with relevant NYSC certificate
- 5-7 years' work experience with understanding of waste management or circular economy is an added advantage
- Metric-driven and problem-solving mindset
- Self-motivated with a sense of ownership and high commitment
