Operations Geologist

About this role

Senior Operations Geologist role based in Lagos with Scruples Resources. The position requires 10-12 years of oil and gas experience and involves supporting HSE aspects of subsurface geological operations, monitoring data in real time during drilling, and acting as the primary interface between Subsurface, Asset, Operations and HSE teams.

What you would do

• Monitor pore pressure, fracture pressure, and temperature data during drilling.
• Provide real-time geological operations monitoring.
• Ensure the security and integrity of well data acquisition.
• Participate in well planning and preparation processes (3W and WSOR).
• Follow up on well operations and interpret geological data.
• Act as the primary operational interface between Subsurface, Asset, Operations, and HSE teams.

• Honours Bachelor's degree in Geology.
• 10-12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
• Good understanding of EXPLO and EP processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• At least five years of subsurface operations experience in roles such as Wellsite Geologist, Operations Geologist, Head of Subsurface, or Petrophysical Analysis Specialist.
