Operations Geologist

About this role

An Operations Geologist is sought to provide real-time geological support for drilling, completion and production at Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited in Abuja. The role involves integrating subsurface data to optimise wells and reservoir development, with emphasis on real-time evaluation and decision making during drilling operations.

What you would do

• Provide real-time geological support during drilling operations and monitor wellsite data.
• Interpret cuttings, cores, mud logs, wireline logs and other geological information to assess formations and reservoir quality.
• Monitor gas readings, lithology, formation pressure and drilling parameters to identify changes and risks.
• Correlate geological information with subsurface models and offset wells for well placement decisions.
• Give geological recommendations to Drilling, Reservoir Engineering, Geophysics and Well Engineering teams.
• Support geosteering and optimal well placement to maximise reservoir exposure and production potential.

What they are asking for

• BSc or MSc in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Surface Engineering or related field.
• Significant relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
