Operations Geologist
About this role
An Operations Geologist is needed to provide real-time geological support for drilling, completion and production activities in Abuja, ensuring wells are drilled and completed in line with geological and reservoir objectives. The role involves integrating subsurface data, coordinating with drilling teams and contributing to field development and production optimisation.
What you would do
- Provide real-time geological evaluation during well operations
- Support geosteering and optimal well placement
- Monitor and interpret geological indicators and drilling parameters
- Participate in well planning, logging and coring programmes
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and company standards
- Maintain geological databases and communicate findings to relevant teams
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Surface Engineering or related discipline
- Significant relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
- Experience in geological data integration, interpretation and reservoir characterisation
- Knowledge of drilling, completion and wellbore hazards management
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork, communication and adaptability skills
- Experience with wellsite data acquisition and interpretation (cuttings, cores, logs, LWD/MWD)
