Operations Executive - Freight Fowarding

What you would do
- Maintain shipment records and prepare operational reports
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, port procedures and safety requirements
- Monitor demurrage and detention costs and take steps to reduce charges
- Obtain freight quotations, negotiate rates and track shipment costs
- Monitor shipment progress and provide updates to clients; resolve delays
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth shipment operations and client satisfaction
- Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, customs agents, haulage providers, overseas agents and clients
- Prepare and process shipping documents and coordinate customs clearance
- Arrange cargo collection, transport, warehousing and delivery
- Coordinate freight bookings, cargo movement, shipment tracking and final delivery

- Relevant professional certification in logistics or freight forwarding (added advantage)
- BSc/HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management or related discipline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shipment tracking systems
- Experience coordinating import and export shipments by sea, air and land
- Good knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, shipping documentation and port operations
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, shipping or logistics operations
- Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and problem-solving skills

- Attention to detail, time management and problem-solving abilities
