Operations and Maintenance Engineer (CNG Sector)
About this role
An in-house Operations and Maintenance Engineer is needed to oversee safe and reliable operation of CNG compressor packages and related equipment in the Lagos area. The role targets candidates with hands-on CNG compressor maintenance experience, safety compliance, and troubleshooting skills.
What you would do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, gas engines, motors, valves, piping, cooling and lubrication systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, PLC, alarm and control-system faults
- Maintain operating logs, maintenance records, service history and breakdown reports
- Carry out routine inspections, start-up/shutdown procedures, and emergency response activities
- Monitor maintenance schedules, running-hour service intervals, spare parts and lubricants
- Operate and maintain CNG compressor packages to maximise uptime and ensure safety equipment is functional
What they are asking for
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on reciprocating compressor maintenance and breakdown troubleshooting
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in CNG compressor operation and maintenance or related environments
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automobile Engineering or related field
- Experience with PLC/HMI-based control systems and basic electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting
- Knowledge of compressor operation, gas engines, multistage compression, lubrication and pressure systems
- Strong safety mindset and familiarity with PTW, LOTO and CNG safety procedures
