About this role

A role for an Online Merchant Business Development Manager to drive acquisition, growth and retention of online merchants for PalmPay in Lagos. The position focuses on onboarding merchants, expanding online payment solutions, and working with cross-functional teams to optimise merchant performance.

What you would do

• Develop and implement merchant acquisition and growth plans to raise online transaction volume and revenue.
• Identify, engage and onboard new fintech, ecommerce and digital service merchants across sectors.
• Build and manage relationships with online merchants, payment gateways and PSP partners.
• Collaborate with Product, Tech, Risk and Compliance to ensure smooth merchant onboarding and integration.
• Analyse merchant performance data to spot trends and opportunities for revenue growth.
• Drive merchant retention through proactive engagement, service quality and solution enhancements.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field.
• Proven experience in online merchant acquiring, fintech sales or online payment gateway management.
• Strong understanding of online payment channels including Card, Transfer, Wallet, USSD and API integrations.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Results-oriented, self-driven and able to meet sales and revenue targets.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
