OJL Trainer-Coach-Assessor – Electrical & Instrumentation
About this role
An OJL trainer-coach-assessor for Electrical & Instrumentation on VINCI Construction's USAN FPSO project. The role trains, mentors and assesses maintenance technicians and supervisors to verify safe, competent performance and to develop local technical capabilities, working offshore on a 3 weeks on/3 weeks off cycle.
What you would do
- Identify competency gaps and conduct job task analyses, reviews and consultations to shape On-the-Job Learning programmes.
- Develop and deliver structured On-the-Job Learning programmes and provide practical coaching to electrical and instrumentation technicians and supervisors.
- Coach personnel in maintenance activities including troubleshooting, testing, calibration, fault finding, repair and commissioning in the FPSO environment.
- Conduct practical on-site competency assessments, review supporting evidence and maintain accurate records.
- Manage and monitor competence records in the Skills Designer system and support continuous improvement of competency management processes.
- Ensure QHSSE and offshore compliance, including Permit-to-Work, electrical safety, and escalate any unsafe conditions or competency concerns.
What they are asking for
- Minimum 12 years of experience with an Oil & Gas multinational Operator or Service Company.
- Strong electrical and/or instrumentation maintenance background in Oil & Gas, with prior supervisory/lead role experience.
- Minimum 3 years of active training experience, preferably in On-the-Job Training/Learning; proven coaching, mentoring and assessment experience.
- Ability to work independently offshore and communicate effectively; strong interpersonal skills; capable of delivering practical and classroom-based training.
- Preferably recognised competence assessment qualifications such as A1/L9DI/V1 or equivalent; assessor or verifier qualification desirable.
- Desirable: FPSO or offshore production facility experience; exposure to international training standards, auditing and competence management systems, and nationalisation programmes.
