Officer of the Watch (OOW) Deck

About this role

This is a full-time Officer of the Watch (OOW) Deck role based in Port Harcourt, Rivers. The role involves ensuring safe vessel operation, navigation and emergency management, and enforcing policy compliance on board. It is suited to someone who holds an OOW deck certificate (NCV or Unlimited), has STCW certification, and at least two years’ experience as a Deck Officer or Surfer Pilot.

What you would do

• Oversee navigation, vessel manoeuvring and management of emergencies
• Supervise passenger and cargo transfers
• Ensure the bridge is adequately manned and maintain safe manning levels
• Maintain vessel tidiness and carry out routine maintenance
• Ensure compliance with Bourbon and client policies; conduct drills and crew familiarisation
• Manage onboard crew training and report technical or operational incidents to management; prepare routine reports as required
