About this role

Finance officer role at Evidence Action in Abuja. The position supports financial management for programmes and operations, ensuring accurate transactions, reconciliations, budget monitoring and reporting, while strengthening financial controls and compliance.

What you would do

• Process payments, invoices, staff advances and expense claims in line with policies
• Prepare financial schedules and reports for management, audits and donors
• Monitor expenditures against budgets and flag variances
• Assist with vendor reconciliations and tracking of payments and procurement
• Maintain and organise finance records, documents and system entries
• Support audits, reconciliations, and preparation of financial data for decision-making

What they are asking for

• 1–2 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, preferably in NGO or similar organisation
• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems
• Basic knowledge of financial accounting, reconciliations, budget monitoring and documentation
• Ability to work under supervision, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and escalate discrepancies
• ACA/ACCA/CNA or related qualification is an added advantage
