NYSC Storyteller, Social Media and Digital Marketing Intern
About this role
The role is for NYSC corps members who will support The Learning Gate Limited with storytelling, social media management and basic digital marketing. It is an onsite position in Abuja, aimed at individuals who enjoy startups, technology and storytelling, and who can engage communities online. The company provides consulting across technology, agriculture and education sectors in Nigeria. The internship focuses on increasing brand visibility and marketing through digital platforms and content creation.
What you would do
- Capture and curate content from events and interviews
- Write posts for social media, blogs, newsletters and websites
- Develop stories about startups, programs, partners and ecosystem impact
- Manage social media by tracking trends, engaging followers and growing communities
- Create and schedule posts using content calendars
- Assist with digital campaigns for programs and events
- Support email marketing and basic CRM activities
- Help track performance metrics such as reach, engagement and conversions
- Assist with basic SEO, hashtags and content optimisation
- Provide basic photography or video editing and create simple graphics when needed

- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, Journalism, Digital Marketing or a related field with relevant experience
- Active user of social media platforms with understanding of trends
- Strong writing skills with good grammar and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Creative storytelling ability
- Basic understanding of digital marketing concepts
- Willingness to work onsite in Abuja and be posted to or serving in Abuja
- Experience in managing social media accounts is a plus
- Nice-to-have: analytics knowledge (LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Analytics), familiarity with AI tools, Canva, CapCut or Adobe tools
- At least 9 months remaining before POP
