Nursing Officer (In-Patient)
About this role
The Nursing Officer (In-Patient) will deliver safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to hospital in-patients, covering assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. The role requires valid NMCN registration/licence and MCPDP compliance and is based in Lagos within a multidisciplinary team.
What you would do
- Provide bedside nursing care across shifts, including medication rounds, IV therapy and fluid-balance charting.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate in-patient nursing care.
- Administer medications and treatments within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate, complete and timely nursing records and apply infection prevention and clinical governance standards.
- Monitor vital signs and early warning scores; escalate deteriorating patients promptly.
- Lead admission and discharge processes and participate in ISBAR shift handover.
What they are asking for
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification from an accredited School/College of Nursing, or BNSc/BSc Nursing from a recognised university.
- Completion of any required orientation/internship and NYSC (for degree holders), or valid exemption where applicable.
- Minimum of 1 year post-registration nursing experience; newly registered nurses may be considered.
- Clinical nursing competence relevant to in-patient care with appropriate autonomy.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary hospital team in an in-patient setting.
- Valid NMCN registration/licence and MCPDP compliance.
