Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician

About this role

Position for Scruples Resources in Lagos as an NDT Technician in the inspection and quality assurance team. The role involves performing non-destructive examinations of materials, components and equipment to identify defects, verify integrity, and ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on NDT experience, strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and document inspection results.

What you would do

• Conduct NDT inspections using methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT/DPT, ET, VT and thermal imaging as required.
• Inspect materials, welds, components, structures and equipment for cracks, corrosion and other irregularities.
• Set up, calibrate, operate and maintain NDT equipment in line with manufacturer instructions and company procedures.
• Interpret and document test results, evaluating indications that may affect integrity.
• Prepare inspection reports with methods, equipment used, results, findings and recommendations as applicable.
• Ensure NDT activities follow approved procedures and health, safety and environmental requirements.

• Diploma, HND or BSc or equivalent in engineering, physical sciences, materials science or related technical field.
• NDT certifications such as ASNT, PCN, ISO 9712 or equivalent relevant to the methods performed.
• Practical experience in one or more NDT methods; experience in multiple methods preferred.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and inspection criteria.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in inspection and reporting.
• Good written and verbal communication; able to work independently and as part of a team, with willingness to travel and on-site work.
