Modern Trade Salesman
About this role
A full-time Modern Trade Salesman role based in Lagos, reporting to the Modern Trade Sales Manager or Sales Supervisor. The position involves managing sales and relationships with modern trade outlets, driving product visibility and volume, and achieving set targets within FMCG environments.
What you would do
- Manage and grow sales in assigned modern trade accounts such as supermarkets and chain stores
- Ensure merchandising standards and POS materials are properly displayed
- Implement sales strategies and promotions to boost revenue and market share
- Prepare and submit regular sales reports and forecasts
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Monitor stock levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking and ensure product availability and visibility at outlets
What they are asking for
- OND/HND/BSc in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
- 2–3 years of proven experience in Modern Trade or Retail Sales, preferably in FMCG
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid driver’s license is an added advantage
