Midwife Activity Manager (Roving)

About this role

A roving Midwife Activity Manager oversees maternal and reproductive health services across multiple health facilities and LGAs in Maiduguri, Borno. The role combines clinical oversight, team leadership, programme monitoring and administrative duties suitable for experienced midwives with humanitarian field experience.

What you would do

• Ensure all midwives and MCH staff have standard job descriptions and perform their duties.
• Plan, organise and supervise maternal and child health interventions in target facilities and LGAs per guidelines.
• Participate in annual project planning and budgeting and support proposals and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with Medical Activity Managers to maintain MCH guidelines and protocols in facilities.
• Assist field doctors and nurses and coordinate referrals for complicated cases.
• Ensure newborns are followed up and referrals to EPI where appropriate; supervise HR processes and staff development.

What they are asking for

• BSc or Diploma in Midwifery from a recognised institution.
• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria with a valid licence.
• Two years’ experience as a midwife, including work with humanitarian organisations.
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet).
• Experience with donors’ compliance and reporting.
• English proficiency; knowledge of Hausa and Kanuri is an asset.
