About this role
The role is a Midwife based in Zamfara with Emergency First International, the NGO formed by the merger of Première Urgence and Aide Médicale Internationale. The midwife provides maternal, newborn and child health and sexual and reproductive health care, including antenatal care, postnatal care, basic emergency obstetric and neonatal care and family planning, under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Supervisor, following project protocols to ensure quality and continuity of care.
What you would do
- Prepare materials and ensure readiness before activities.
- Conduct antenatal consultations and screening tests according to protocols.
- Perform deliveries according to protocols and hygiene standards.
- Carry out postnatal consultations within six weeks of delivery.
- Provide family planning consultations and counselling according to protocol.
- Identify sexually gender-based violence victims and coordinate their treatment with the medical team.
