Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Officer (MHPSS)
About this role
A Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Officer will implement and monitor MHPSS activities for children, adolescents, caregivers and communities in Borno, ensuring quality delivery of HEART and related psychosocial support services while coordinating with partners and integrating MHPSS across programmes.
What you would do
- Implement MHPSS activities and ensure quality delivery
- Coordinate referrals and capacity building for staff and partners
- Monitor programme quality through field visits and data collection
- Train and supervise facilitators, volunteers and community workers on MHPSS approaches
- Identify vulnerable individuals and ensure safe referrals to specialised services
- Support integration of MHPSS with Child Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition programmes and document lessons learned
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counselling, social work, public health or related field
- Knowledge of IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings
- 2-3 years of relevant MHPSS programme experience in humanitarian or community settings
- Experience providing psychosocial support, PFA, case management and referrals
- Strong facilitation, training, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders
