Medical Officer II (Kaduna)
About this role
The Medical Officer II will provide clinical care in dentistry under supervision, treating patients in outpatient and inpatient settings and helping ensure the dentistry service runs safely. The role is for a dental practitioner with post-qualification experience who can work in a multidisciplinary team and hold current registration.
What you would do
- Assess, diagnose and manage dentistry patients with decreasing levels of supervision, escalating appropriately.
- Participate in clinics, ward rounds, on-call rotas and procedures, contributing to audit and quality-improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and current MDCN registration/licence in line with internal clinical policy.
- Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with other services and supporting managed-care/HMO processes through evidence-based, cost-effective practice.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or BChD or equivalent registrable dental qualification; completion of housemanship/internship and NYSC, or valid exemption.
- Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC clinical experience, including time at Medical Officer I grade or equivalent.
- Post-registration clinical experience as a dental practitioner beyond entry level.
- Current MDCN registration/licence.
- Sound clinical knowledge relevant to dentistry.
- Demonstrable ability to manage patients with decreasing levels of supervision.
