Medical Laboratory Scientist (Histopathology Specialty)

Lily Hospitals Limited in Delta seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist with a histopathology specialty to join the laboratory team. The role involves handling tissue specimens through processing, analysis and slide preparation to support accurate diagnosis, while upholding quality, safety and confidentiality. You will collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.

What you would do

• Receive, label, process and maintain records of tissue specimens.
• Perform tissue fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy and routine or special staining.
• Prepare high-quality microscope slides for histopathological examination.
• Support immunohistochemistry procedures and other diagnostic tests.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot histopathology equipment.
• Carry out internal quality-control procedures and participate in quality-assurance activities while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related discipline.
• Current practising licence with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
• Relevant experience in a histopathology laboratory is preferred.
• Demonstrable competence in tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation.
• Knowledge of histochemical and immunohistochemistry techniques is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
