About this role
A Medical Laboratory Scientist is needed to run and supervise the laboratory operations at the Umuahia clinic, processing tests across multiple disciplines and ensuring accurate reporting through BeaconOS. The role involves specimen handling, diagnostic testing, quality control, and supervising a Laboratory Technician for patient-focused service.
What you would do
- Prepare and process patient specimens for testing
- Match orders to labelling and ensure accurate specimen tracking
- Perform tests across chemistry, haematology, microbiology, immunology and toxicology
- Assess result validity and report results through BeaconOS
- Maintain safety, quality control, and equipment calibration
- Supervise the Laboratory Technician and support staff while safeguarding patient confidentiality
What they are asking for
- Current licence to practise from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN)
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science
- Computer literate and able to use BeaconOS and digital records
- Completion of NYSC or valid exemption
- Minimum of 2 years' post-licence experience in hospital or diagnostic laboratory
- Competence in at least two disciplines among chemistry, haematology, microbiology and immunology
