Medical Laboratory Scientist

About this role

Cellulose Medical Diagnostics is recruiting a Medical Laboratory Scientist to lead and manage all aspects of laboratory service delivery for both individual and corporate clients. The role focuses on building and maintaining systems, processes and protocols for complete medical laboratory management across various specimen types. The position is based in Abuja and is full-time, reporting to the Medical Director as part of a team that includes customer care and business development units.

What you would do

• Capture all samples in the logbook and ensure results are stated in the reporting template with appropriate comments by the resident doctor.
• Strengthen and maintain the laboratory's quality control and quality assurance programmes.
• Restock supplies and commodities monthly or as required.
• Verify and approve all outgoing results.
• Ensure specimens are processed and results completed with short turnaround times.
• Make technical presentations or represent the laboratory at various fora.
• Maintain equipment with regular maintenance/recalibration.
• Perform and participate in performance appraisals of laboratory staff.
• Maintain laboratory logs and records (issue logs, maintenance logs, expiry logs, stock cards, etc.).
• Handle, log and process all laboratory specimens as assigned by the Medical Director.

What they are asking for

• 2 to 5 years post-NYSC experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science; Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Valid practicing licence from the Medical Laboratory Science Council.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Ability to work with limited supervision, and demonstrate teamwork, leadership, initiative, resourcefulness, adaptability and decisiveness.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
