A Medical Laboratory Scientist role at BeaconHealth Diagnostics in Umuahia, Abia, responsible for running and supervising laboratory testing across multiple disciplines, ensuring quality and timely reporting for patient care. What you would do
- Handle and process patient specimens for laboratory testing
- Match orders to labelling, log and verify specimen accuracy
- Prepare samples and perform tests across chemistry, haematology, urinalysis, coagulation, immunology, microbiology and toxicology
- Assess result validity, document results, and report abnormal findings to appropriate staff
- Maintain quality control, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment, and ensure safety standards
- Supervise the Laboratory Technician and support staff, and assist with training and patient interaction

- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science
- Current MLSCN practising licence
- Completed NYSC or valid exemption
- Minimum 2 years post-licence experience in hospital or diagnostic laboratory
- Competence in at least two disciplines among chemistry, haematology, microbiology, immunology
- Computer literacy and experience with digital record systems (BeaconOS)
