What you would do
- Perform laboratory tests on blood, urine, tissue and other body fluids using manual and automated methods.
- Collect, process, label and store specimens with accuracy and traceability.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Run internal quality control and participate in external quality control monthly.
- Conduct monthly environmental swabs and report findings.
- Analyse and report results and communicate panic/critical values to the requesting doctor.
- Verify doctors' requests and ensure samples are requested and billed correctly.
- Outsource tests not run in-house and follow up on reference lab results.
- Manage lab inventory and place orders for supplies as needed.
- Prepare lab KPI reports and maintain biosafety and regulatory compliance.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Valid practising license as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years post-NYSC experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory.
- Thorough knowledge of medical ethics.
- Excellent oral and written English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
