Medical Gas Plant Engineer
About this role
The Engineer - Medical Gas Plant at AMCE Abuja is responsible for the operation, maintenance and compliance of the hospital's medical gas pipeline system and related plant. The role ensures a continuous, safe and reliable supply of medical gases to clinical areas and is suited to engineers with experience in operating and maintaining complex engineering plants.
What you would do
- Operate, monitor and maintain medical gas production plants and MGPS components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, servicing and testing of all medical gas equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines and relevant standards.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in the medical gas pipeline system, including outlets, alarms and valves.
- Manage and monitor medical gas cylinder storage, changeover procedures and bulk tank levels.
- Ensure compliance with national and international safety standards; perform regular purity testing and document results.
- Lead upgrades, extensions or modifications to the MGPS, coordinating with consultants and contractors.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Valid membership with a recognised professional engineering body (e.g., COREN or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years' proven experience in operation and maintenance of complex engineering plants.
- In-depth knowledge of medical gas production technologies, high-pressure pipeline systems, and alarm monitoring systems.
- Experience leading a technical team and managing maintenance schedules.
- Strong understanding of international safety and quality standards governing medical gases.
