Mechanical Technician - Air Conditioning

The Mechanical Technician – Air Conditioning role is based in Lagos and focuses on keeping the facilities’ mechanical and electrical systems running efficiently. It involves preventive maintenance, breakdown management and leading the on-site technical team to meet targets and safety standards. The role requires at least three years’ facilities management experience and a NEMSA certification.

What you would do

• Ensure mechanical and electrical systems, facilities layout and machinery operate efficiently and safely.
• Carry out total preventative maintenance and manage breakdowns of mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment.
• Help plan and resource Planned Preventative Maintenance and maintenance shutdowns.
• Lead and coordinate the technical team, ensure workloads are managed and targets, KPIs and quality standards are met.
• Foster a culture of safety and develop the team through coaching and performance support.
• Make independent decisions in emergency situations and report outcomes to the organisational head.

What they are asking for

• At least 3 years' experience in facilities management.
• NEMSA certification.
• City & Guilds level 3 or a degree/technician diploma; professional accreditation advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication and organisation skills.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance principles; ability to manage technical contractors; familiarity with FM policies and health and safety legislation.
