Mechanical Technician

Mikano International Limited is recruiting a Mechanical Technician for a full-time role in Lagos. The company operates in power generation, real estate and construction, including sales, maintenance, assembly and distribution of power generation products. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting gen-sets and related mechanical systems to meet performance targets. What you would do

• Store tools properly to prevent damage to materials and ensure machines are switched off at close of work daily.
• Stay updated on problem solving techniques for issues such as smoke, air in the system, leaks, abnormal sounds and vibrations.
• Use and adjust equipment such as cranes, trolleys, torque wrenches, veneer calipers, and air ratchets.
• Identify sizes and preparation of raw materials (nuts, bolts, washers) for various capacities.
• Perform machine balancing and use cranes to lift or move heavy equipment.
• Report spare parts or raw materials that are not normal before or after coupling.
• Read and understand gen-set manuals and report any unclear points.
• Familiar with steel fabricating materials used for gen-sets (base tanks, base frames, crossbars) and check balance of engine with alternator and other components.
• Determine quantities of oil and coolant for each series.
