Mechanical Technician

Mikano International Limited seeks a Mechanical Technician for its Ikeja, Lagos operation. The role targets candidates with hands-on experience in mechanical aspects of generator sets within a production or servicing environment. What you would do

• Assess and select appropriate fabrication materials for gen-sets (base tank, base frame, crossbars, etc.).
• Determine quantities of oil and coolant for each series.
• Report any spare parts or raw materials that are abnormal before or after coupling.
• Operate and adjust tools such as cranes, trolleys, torque wrenches, veneer calipers, and air ratchets.
• Ensure proper storage of tools and switch off machines at the end of the workday.
• Read and interpret gen-set manuals and seek clarification when needed.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues like smoke, air leaks, abnormal sounds, and vibrations.
• Monitor machine balance and verify generator set balance (engine, alternator, anti-vibration mounting, radiator connections).
• Maintain awareness of problem solving techniques and continually update knowledge on gen-set problems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation to avoid damage to materials.

What they are asking for

• OND in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Gen-Sets production.
