Mikano is recruiting a Mechanical Technician in Lagos to work within their generator production and steel fabrication division. The role focuses on assembly and maintenance of gen-sets, including reading manuals, handling fabrication materials, and operating or assisting with lifting equipment. What you would do

• Assess and manage steel fabrication materials for gen-sets (base tank, base frame, crossbars, etc.).
• Determine raw material quantities (nuts, bolts, washers, etc.) for each generator capacity.
• Balance machines and operate cranes to handle heavy equipment.
• Check generator balance and alignment of components (engine, alternator, anti-vibration mounts, radiator, hoses, etc.).
• Determine oil and coolant requirements for each series.
• Report spare parts or raw materials that are not standard.
• Operate and adjust tools and equipment (cranes, trolleys, torque wrenches, veneer calipers, air ratchets, etc.).
• Stay updated on problem-solving techniques for issues like smoke, leaks, abnormal sounds, or vibrations.
• Read and interpret gen-set manuals and seek clarification when needed.
• Ensure tools are properly stored and machines are switched off at end of shift.
