The role is for a Mechanical Supervisor based in Lagos, part of Prima Corporations Limited. The job focuses on the reliability, maintenance and uptime of Husky injection molding systems and related equipment, supervising a team of technicians to maximise production efficiency in a high-speed manufacturing setting. It involves managing maintenance for resin dryers, mold dehumidifiers and other auxiliary systems, and coordinating mold changes and safety practices. What you would do

• Supervise repairs, servicing and overhauls of Husky molding platforms.
• Monitor clamping units, high-speed toggle mechanisms, tie-bars and structural alignments.
• Oversee mechanical timing and alignment of take-out plates, robotic arms and handling systems.
• Manage preventive maintenance for resin dryers, desiccant wheels, heaters and airflow.
• Oversee mold dehumidifier units to maintain dew points during production.
• Maintain central water chilling loops, manifolds and pneumatic supply lines.
• Direct, train and schedule mechanical technicians and mold setters.
• Coordinate multi-cavity hot runner mold changes and manage utility hookups.
• Enforce Lockout/Tagout and plant safety regulations during maintenance

• Extensive knowledge of Husky PET Injection Molding Machines (hydraulic, pneumatic, cooling).
• Experience with SACMI equipment and plastic packaging processes.
• Understanding of injection molding operations, mold maintenance, hot runners and cooling circuits.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and perform root cause analysis.
• Experience in preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance to maximise uptime.
• Knowledge of auxiliary systems (air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, vacuum).
• Ability to read engineering drawings, manuals and mechanical schematics.
• Strong leadership, safety and team management skills.
• Experience supervising technicians and contractors in manufacturing
